Acceptable Use

Last updated: September 2026

VEDEO makes it fast to produce publishable video. That speed is worth protecting, so this policy sets out what the service may not be used for. It applies to everything you generate, store or distribute through VEDEO.

This is our current published policy. It describes how the service actually works today; we update it when the service changes, and the date above always reflects the latest revision.

Content you may not create

  • Content that sexualises minors, in any form or style.
  • Sexually explicit material, and content produced to sexualise a real person without their consent.
  • Content that incites, threatens or glorifies violence, or that promotes a violent or terrorist organisation.
  • Harassment of a specific person, hate speech, or content that demeans people on the basis of a protected characteristic.
  • Instructions for producing weapons, explosives or other material capable of causing mass harm.
  • Content promoting self-harm, suicide, or disordered eating.
  • Material that infringes someone else's copyright, trademark or other rights.

Deception and impersonation

Synthetic video is persuasive, which is precisely why misuse of it is damaging. You may not use VEDEO to:

  • Depict a real person saying or doing something they did not, in a way intended to be believed.
  • Impersonate a person, business or public body, or imply an endorsement that does not exist.
  • Produce political disinformation, fabricated news, or content designed to interfere with an election or a public health response.
  • Create financial, medical or legal claims presented as professional advice when they are not.
  • Run scams, phishing, fake giveaways or deceptive advertising.

Abuse of the platform

  • Do not attempt to bypass credit metering, rate limits, or any access control.
  • Do not create multiple accounts to obtain repeated introductory benefits.
  • Do not probe, scan or attempt to gain unauthorised access to our systems or another customer's data.
  • Do not resell raw access to the generation pipeline as if it were your own API.
  • Do not automate the service in a way that degrades it for other customers.

What remains your responsibility

Automated generation does not transfer responsibility. Before publishing, check that a video is accurate, that you have the rights to what it shows, and that it complies with the rules of the platform you post it to — including that platform's requirements for labelling AI-generated media.

Enforcement

We may remove content, limit generation, or suspend or close an account that breaches this policy. Serious cases — particularly those involving harm to children — are reported to the appropriate authorities. Where it is safe and lawful to do so, we will tell you what happened and why.
